What is an "Uncontested Divorce"?
Generally speaking, an uncontested divorce is one where the spouses will agree to the terms of the divorce (hence the reason why an uncontested divorce is sometimes referred to as an "agreed divorce").
Sometimes the spouses agree at the beginning of the divorce process and others it will take a mediation or additional negotiations before an agreement can be reached. The majority of uncontested divorces start with an agreement that divorce is required. The terms of the divorce will be agreed to later.
If the divorce is uncontested, you may be able to use divorce forms and complete your divorce without hiring an attorney!
